
Colter Carlisle's story

Colter Carlisle is a renter and the Vice President of the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council where he is an advocates for pro-renter and anti-displacement policies. Colter was raised in a low income union household (Illinois Iron Workers Local 380) before moving to East Hollywood at the age of 18. From 2005 to 2015, Colter worked on, and managed, over 10 political campaigns around the U.S. for Democratic Party Candidates including Barack Obama’s 2008 Iowa Caucus Campaign and helped organize volunteers for the Bernie Sanders for President Campaign.
Colter is running for the Los Angeles City Council in order to help working class Angelenos fight against the cost of living by protecting rent controlled apartments from being destroyed in favor of luxury high rises. Colter will provide more money for food assistance, will take a more aggressive stance against ICE and Donald Trump in order to protect our undocumented neighbors, make Los Angeles an easier place to do business by reducing fees and streamlining city permitting and regulations. Colter wants to protect our homes by disaster proofing Los Angeles and revitalizing the neighborhood councils and our local democracy.
